Booking Terms & Conditions
Thank you for choosing to book Dorchester House, when you make this booking you are entering into an agreement with us. Please read our terms and conditions below.
- The price includes accommodation and our complimentary breakfast.
- Full payment is due on departure.
We are happy to accommodate children aged six and older.
Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate any pets.
Once you have booked your stay our agreement is a legal contract.
For cancellations made up to 21 days before your holiday with us you will not be liable for the full balance. For cancellations made after this time, you may be liable for the full cost of the booking if we are unable to re-let the stay. For cancellations made 5 days or less before your arrival date, or by failing to take up the booking without cancelling, will be subject to the full cost of your stay. For this reason, you may wish to take out holiday cancellation insurance to avoid incurring costs.
All bookings are made on a room rate basis; we will endeavour to accommodate additional guests in group bookings however any reduction in party numbers will still require full payment.
It is essential that each member of a group booking occupying a multi-bedded room understands that either cancellation or failure to arrive will incur the cancellation fee as specified above and may results in the loss of the booking for the entire room.
It is the responsibility of the group organiser (the person booking the accommodation) to ensure all group members are aware of the Terms & Conditions and that payment is made to the proprietors in the event of any cancellation or failure to arrive by any member of their group.
We would only cancel your booking if your accommodation was unavailable for reasons beyond our control. We would attempt to offer you alternative accommodation, however if this was not possible or unacceptable to you, we will refund any money already paid to us. Our liability would not extend beyond this refund. Bookings by email, website contact form or phone message, there may be a delay from receiving these to manually adding your booking. There is a small chance that during this time other guests could place an automatic online booking for these dates.
Your accommodation is available to you from 4pm on day of arrival; our normal check-in times are between 4pm-6pm. If you are planning to arrive outside of these times please advise of your estimated time of arrival when booking your stay.
Please be ready to leave your accommodation by 10am on the day of your departure. Your invoice for your accommodation is payable on departure.
Please take care with our accommodation and its contents. Please report damages as soon as they occur, we do not usually charge for minor damages, however we may send you an invoice for the repair/cleaning or making good if the damage or breakage is significant. Please ensure your room keys are returned on departure, any loss, damage or failure to return will incur full cost of replacement.
We do not accept any liability for any damages, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions: unless proven to have been caused by a negligent act by ourselves or contractors whilst under our employment.
You are responsible for your room keys, belongings, cars, bikes etc during your stay.
It is illegal to smoke anywhere on the premises. It is also against house rules to Vape on the premises.
Guests who smoke on the premises will be asked to leave immediately, and will be liable for the full cost of their stay up to the time of departure. In addition, an excess of £100 to cover the additional cost of deep cleaning and any further resultant loss of income may be charged.
We will leave the inner door unlocked, and lock the outer door (to which you have a key) at approx. 11pm.
Please keep noise to an acceptable level.
We don’t mind cold food in the rooms, and we are open to any takeaway meals being eaten in the dining room with prior agreement.
We do not permit visitors unless you have agreed that with us beforehand.
